Over the years there have been some great sports games. The Madden series, Bottom of the Ninth, Gameday, and the ever so popular hockey series NHL 2000. Now that we have entered the 128-bit age, more sports games can look more realistic and look much better. NFL 2000 is the first sports game in the new 128-bit age, and if the sports games in the future look and play like NFL2k were all in for a treat. From the introduction to the end of the game, this game is action packed. Everything about this game should be praised because it is virtually flawless in presentation, graphics, sounds, and the all important gameplay. Thank god that the great graphics in this game, comes with great gameplay.

The graphics in this game is nothing, but flawless. On the replay mode, when you zoom into the players, you swear they look like the real people in life. The game is so detailed that it boggles the brain. You can see the characters breathing, having grass or mud stains on there jerseys, the stadiums were all done nicely, and the weather effects were outstanding. The one downfall on the graphic department was that the people on the sidelines and the people in the seats were 2D. Its not really a biggy, but it would have been nice if Visual Concepts took some more time and designing the background people. I was really impress on the graphics of the replay mode. They look so dang real when you do it in slow motion. Also in the replay mode more things are visible like the pads of the players and the names of the players on there jersey. NFL 2000 so far has the best graphics in a sports game.

I?m tried of games that have great graphics, but horrible gameplay. Fortunately, NFL2k does not fall in that category. The running and passing in the game is perfectly planned out, but it seems that you are able to pass more, than run more because of the smart AI. There are many modes in this game to keep you playing like Season, Draft, practice, and many other modes. You can change the temperature of the weather, make it night or day, or make it rainy or snowy. The replay mode is where the game shines. The replay is got to be one of the best replays in a game because its so detailed and its just fun to see all the players in slow motion. With the great gameplay comes great sound. The sounds effects make you feel like your really in the game. The fan noises are also a nice touch making it feel like a real football atmosphere. One more thing, the intro music is very good in my opinion.

If theres one game to start off your DreamCast collection, its gotta be NFL2k. With its awesome graphics and great gameplay, no sports fan or casual gamers should miss this game. Its the best sports game I have ever played. Go get this game while theres still some copies left, because there probably won?t be any by Christmas
